We are delighted to be opening the twelfth Rhenumis floor auction with over 2.200 lots from 15 May 2024; this will take place both in the hall and online and will feature a broad spectrum: from antiquity to modernity, from coins and banknotes to medals and mixed collection and estate lots, the range of numerous regions and eras will once again be covered this time. This also applies to our range of militaria as well as jewellery and watches.
The title lot of the auction deserves special attention: one of very few aurei of the Caesar murderer Brutus from the year 42 BC, which he had minted together with the Cassius legate Publius Cornelius Lentulus Spinther; the hammer price is 50,000 euros (f. vz). In addition to ancient gold coins, there are also a number of Celtic, Greek and Roman silver nominals to choose from, as well as Aksumite and Sabaean coins.
